My Story

From the time I began graduate school, my passion has always been treating marriages and other kinds of relationships. It was one of the first courses I took at the University of Maryland. As time progressed, I dedicated much of my practice toward the treatment of children and adolescents, as well as specializing in the treatment of drug and alcohol (abuse). In 2012, I began devoting my time and energy, primarily toward treating marriages and relationships.

Although I had been treating emotional trauma for some time, it became apparent that many marriages and relationships also required trauma work. For that reason, I added the specialty of emotional trauma treatment to my practice. I do on occasion treat other populations, but I sincerely enjoy the opportunity of helping people who have relationship issues and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder(PTSD).

I also consult and train relationship therapists to become certified Gottman therapists through training, and consultation. I help with research at the Gottman Institute. I provide consultation and training to help clinicians improve their clinical skills in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). There are so many factors in our society that pull people away from having long standing and loving relationships that they want to have in their lives. Emotional trauma also can cause people to have difficulty with having healthy, loving, intimate relationships. I’ve dedicated my career to helping couples truly achieve long lasting and loving relationships, free from emotional trauma.

This is my continuing professional mission in Ohio and now Texas as well!
